WTF!?

Doc left a message: MRI is negative. I should call him Monday to "decide where to go from here."

Bad news: We now don't know what the pain is.

Good news: Recovery time will likely be much less than 6-8 weeks. Marathon is looking more likely.

It's been 10 days since my last run. During that time the pain went from "really annoying" to almost completely gone. But it wasn't a linear decline. Some days were better than others. And while the bone pain was always there, sometimes the inner calf or upper shin also hurt a little.

My current theory is that the pains are a result of starting running almost immediately after getting orthotics. So my mechanics, which my body has been used to for 32 years, are different so my legs need to adjust.

What I need to for someone to watch me run. One of the new students at Tufts is a marathon runner and has agreed to train with me. I hope he can watch and look for something.

You once told me that I knew too many Aarons. I may now tell you that you know too many Docs.

My very first reaction to this was, "Wait. I never called you. I'm not sure I've ever left you a voice mail. Email, yes, but I don't remember voice mail. At least not recently."

If they don't know what the pain is, how can the recoverytime be much less than 6-8 weeks? Not that I'm complaining, mind you.
